A builder's circa $1M payment claim got rejected because they politely asked for "approval" instead of requesting payment. Turns out BCIPA doesn't reward good manners. The adjudicator had no jurisdiction because the claim didn't satisfy s68(1)(c) of BCIPA.
You cannot collect what you don't request.
